From Flexible Capacity to Energy Market Participation

For many large energy users, flexibility is moving from a general energy management concept to a more specific operational and commercial question: which assets can flex, when can they respond, how often can they be used, and which value streams are they best suited to?

Different sites will have different opportunities. Some may have controllable load, generation, storage, EV charging, refrigeration, pumps, compressors, HVAC, thermal processes or other assets that can be optimised. Others may need aggregation or a managed route to market before flexibility can become practical.

This webinar will explore how large end consumers can assess their flexible capacity, understand the difference between implicit savings and explicit market participation, and consider how asset optimisation can support cost management, resilience and revenue opportunities.

Following Drax’s acquisition of Flexitricity, the session will also consider how the combined capabilities of Drax and Flexitricity can help customers move from flexibility potential to practical participation in wholesale, balancing and ancillary services markets.
